PROFILE OF PROF. ARMSTRONG DONKOH
Prof. Armstrong Donkoh is a highly skilled and motivated Animal Scientist with many years of experience in the area of Animal Science. He obtained a B.Sc 2nd Class Upper Division (Honours) degree in Agriculture (Animal Science option) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 1979 and later graduated with a PhD degree in Animal Science at Massey University in Palmerston North, New Zealand in 1993 under a New Zealand Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan.
Prof. Donkoh has proven track record of University teaching in Ghana and Liberia. After his undergraduate studies in 1979, he was selected to serve as a National Service Personnel in the Department of Animal Science, KNUST. Between 1981 and 1983, he was a Teaching Assistant in the same Department. He was later appointed Assistant Lecturer in 1983, a position he held until 1985 when he was promoted to the position of a Lecturer. Prof. Donkoh was promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer in 1993, Associate Professor in 1999 and Full Professor in 2004.
As a scholar, Prof. Donkoh has published extensively in scholarly journals in his areas of specialization, which include Animal Nutrition and Management, Digestive Physiology and Animal Biometeorology and Biotechnology. Prof. Donkoh has published 166 works of scholarship. Prof. Donkoh has also acquired considerable executive/administrative experience as well as serving on a number of high profile universities and national committees. He has been the Editor - in – Chief of the Ghanaian Journal of Animal Science since 2016. He is currently a member of the Ghana Animal Science Association, the Australasian Pig Science Association and a Fellow of the Ghana Society of Animal Production.
